THE PHOTO PROJECT
here's how it worked:
participants received a box which contained a disposible camera and a notebook.
their task was to take one (1) picture of something that was important to them. they each then wrote something in the notebook about their picture.
next, everything was packed back into the box and was passed along to a friend. that friend repeated the process and passed the box along to one of their friends, etc.
the last person to take a picture was responsible for sending the box back to me. out of ten boxes sent out, i received four back.

the idea for this project came out of a conversation i had with a friend. i am both facinated and terrified by the proliferation of commercialized social networking and feel that in some way this project speaks to that. i am also open to letting the pictures and comments that people sent back dictate exactly what the project is about. what IS important to the people i know and the people they know?
